Our bachelor’s programmes, which include British and American Studies, German Literature, French Literature, Italian Literature, Spanish and Ibero-American Studies and Slavic Literatures, all have their individual focus but also provide insights into the neighbouring literary disciplines. All study programmes also include linguistic as well as language proficiency components, except for the bachelor’s programme in German Literature. You can choose to study our philological study programmes as a major or minor. The Literature-Art-Media programme, which is unique in Germany, combines literary theory with art theory/art history and media studies. Please note that the Literature-Art-Media is not available as a minor subject. You can choose to specialise in any one of the three disciplines. The Classics and the Ancient Near East programme combines studies in Latin literature with ancient history and archaeology. Completing any one of our undergraduate programmes qualifies you for consecutive master’s studies (Master of Arts).
