Guest Lecturer Prof. Garett Steward (University of Iowa): Surveillance and Mediation
In May and June 2018, Prof. Garrett Stewart is teaching the block seminar “Surveillance and Mediation.” Stewart is a professor of English at the University of Iowa.
Garett Steward hat über das Thema des Seminars ein Buch geschrieben: Closed Circuits: Screening Narrative Surveillance (2015). Er befasst sich in seiner Forschung mit den Austauschbeziehungen zwischen der amerikanischen und englischen Literatur und visuellen Medien, insbesondere Fotografie, Film und bildender Kunst. Zu seinen wichtigsten Veröffentlichungen zählen Between Film and Screen: Modernism's Photo Synthesis (2000), Framed Time: Toward a Postfilmic Cinema (2007), Novel Violence: A Narratography of Victorian Fiction (2009), Bookwork: Medium to Object to Concept to Art (2011), The Deed of Reading: Literature Writing Language Philosophy (2015), and Transmedium: Conceptualism 2.0 and the New Object Art (2017).
