James Clifton will describe a recent exhibition at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, organized in conjunction with the Sarah Campbell Blaffer Foundation and featuring early modern paintings from both collections. The participants and he together will examine infrared and x-radiograph images of paintings in the collection of the Sarah Campbell Blaffer Foundation and discuss the art historical ramifications of aspects revealed by technical examination.
